My dear Otakus,

I've got great news! I just found a great VPS hosting provider which allows us to get a semi-dedicated server for $35/mo. This is pretty great since we are in the need of some automation like 24/7 rss downloads and 24/7 uploads. I hope to be getting this server in the coming 2 months as I scramble some money together. With several plans laid out by Misesty and I, we decided that we are in the need of a very automated feature. We are looking for a coder who is somewhat familiar with Joomla! and bash scripting. This is what we're looking for.

We want to be able to set up an RSS downloader with torrentflux. As soon as the download is complete it has to be uploaded by a script to 2shared and megaupload.com. The links will be stored in a TXT file together with the filename. This is the MUST feature. The additional thing we would like to see (not as important as the first feature) is that as soon as the upload is complete, a script using RPC will push the episode into K2 (our submission system). It has to insert the correct episode name/number, correct extra fields (link and filename) and it has to put it in the correct category.

New Features

Hey Otakus!

I added 2 new features to the site. After a few requests I decided to add the Latest Downloads option and the Most Popular Downloads option under the Anime Downloads menu item. Just hover over the menu item, and a box will drop down with the two links to the new features. Hope you guys will enjoy it.

Also, I got a new SEF component which makes the urls prettier for Google. It does break the pagination so I am working on that ;) That's the reason I am displaying 51 items in those 2 new menu items. Once I get the pagination to work, I will hook you guys up.

Off to AP Calculus...

Design installed!

Hey Guys and Gals!

I just wrapped up the initial installation of the new design. I must say this one is less "cold" than the other one and it feels more comfortable! Now the only thing that is left to do is do the final css tweaks to align some stuff and change some background patterns. Other than that, the site is good to go!

If you have any problems, just drop a note either on the forum, pm or contact form. Whichever you feel more comfortable with. I'm off to bed!

New Design Again!

My Fellow Otakus,

I was very displeased with our current template as it felt very empty and lonely. This blue and coldness just didn't reflect what Animekyun is all about. That's why I am updating the template yet again to a more cozy and relaxed design. Don't worry, this one is going to be a quick update in the sense that the site might go down for half an hour. I've got the design ready to go, but I've got a Calculus Test tomorrow on the Integrals chapter so I am going to study for it after I finish this post :D.

On another note, the site is becoming VERY active. Much more active then I thought. The site is in a desperate need of a dedicated server. We humbly accept any amounts for donation and we sincerely appreciate every penny! (But don't be all stingy and actually donate 1 penny. You will get banned... because I can!)

Okidoki! I'm off. Enjoy this picture!

EDIT: Okay... the ban thing was a joke... To be honest: Any amount is absolutely welcome! :D

A bit of Silence

My Dear Otakus,

As you may have noticed, it has been very quiet at the site lately. I haven't been uploading much anime and that's due to the fact that I am very busy with my short film Project IRIS. Currently this movie has received a tremendous amount of attention by people around the world and I am really pushing this thing. And I also have some good/bad news. I will probably be re-updating the site template again. For some reason (don't ask me how) it's causing login issues which are hardcoded in this framework. I can't look at it since I'm too lazy. Sooo... I'll probably will switch to a more anime friendly template. This is a bit too cold and open for me. I like the "crowded" feel.

In other words: If you have time to help me out with the site by adding anime and what not to the main site. Please don't hesitate to mail me or shoot me a PM on the forum!
