Yes I love Halo and yes I have 2 monitors. Also my wallpapers rotate so I do have wallpapers that span the entire 3840 pixels in width

I LOL'ed at the recycle bin :/ so I am the only person who has an inherent need to have nothing on the desktop at all just because of "the pretty/witty picture", entirely defeating the object of having the desktop space in the first place ... nah can't be XD

I am rather anal about my desktop being clean but this is about as messy as i allow it to get and i just happen to have x-mas wallpaper lol

just bunch of games i installed most never played lol and video editing software xD my wallpaper changes often too

Well this seems pretty fun I will post a screenshot of my desktop as soon as I get back home on Wednesday, but what I can say is that I too run 2 monitors, beautiful Samsung 27" one LCD and one LED, the LED one I got for Christmas from my parents got it at very close to supplier price too hehe

I actually also do not have any ecchi background currently, it is however occupied by the Diablo 3 wizard class wallpaper...been playing the beta like for the whole of December

But the main thing is to hide the ecchi part of myself when around my parents, they don't really like the whole scenario of the genre even though they don't know what it is hehe.

Um, this is fun post, but I have to admit I did clean up a little--just a little, it still needs cleaned up. Was too embarrased to show how sloppy I can get with just throwing stuff onto my desktop all the time.

My computer desk is in the basement and NO ONE is allowed to touch it. I have three 17" LCD monitors, and would love to make it six. I have multiple desktop wallpaper folders to choose from and I am currently on my sexy ladies wallpapers that change every 15 minutes with a new beauty. I have a couple hundred different wallpapers maybe that I made (3840x1024) with the help of photoshop.

17"? I have 2 24's and lovin' it. Instead of getting 6 monitors total, get 3 24's or 26's. You will jizz all over your setup.

LOL - I thought about that, but I already had 3 monitors--all 17"- so I found a stand that would hold them all for < $60. It was so cheap, that I bought the extension to hold 3 more for the same.

Prices for 21" and above monitors still too steep at the moment, but I can get 3 more 17" monitors, thin framed, for about $60 each. I would put the other three on top of this 3, allowing to have larger area for wallpaper. It's not easy picking a thin sliver of a nice pic.

While on the qu. of desktops here's mine, although it's just one of my defaults atm the reason being because...well i might just explain in the 'last otaku...' thread Also i was brickin it when i had to do screenshot for this PAINT HAS CHANGED! its interface more user friendly..i don't like it..

Also @Ortix! i see your running mighty fine programs, i saw your nerd-cons, matlab and solidworks ring anybell?

don't hate on my nerd icons. SolidWorks and MATLAB are for school! I don't use them that often anymore

Try using CATIA? it's the most powerfull cad program out there at the moment in industry and a dam right BASTARD in this case the user interface is unfriendly and i don't like that at all

I used CATIA last year. We used V5 and yes the user interface is so goddamn unfriendly. It takes ages to design stuff and actually flesh them out. Solidworks is just that much faster. They are however made by the same company. CATIA is really just made for aircraft. CATIA v6 seems to have a better UI. Why do you use this software?

I have yet to see v6 yet, i heard it was a lot better if it is i can't wait to use it. Solidworks and CATIA both designed by dassualt systems wern't they so yeah makes sense solidaworks is really good it's better for the smaller businesses and as you said it's a lot quicker to get through. Why do i use it? this is because my dear ortix, i am currently in a placement year in industry on my course working as a design engineer for RP Aero Systems, that's also a manufacturing company, basically getting to design and build f1 cars, planes and shiiiit, best of both worlds really and My course is in Aerospace Systems Engineering, i'm gonna be a 3rd yr student when i go back this sept 2012...that is my life story...thought you knew

Oh I never actually put mine on ... and as, for the first time in weeks, I have one which isn't some *random chick with highlights* background I'll take this opportunity:

Unlike some people my laptop is so slow I have to monitor almost every process to stop it from dying while running Win7 ... just switching on with minimal processes leave my computer at 37% memmory ... once firefox + thunderbird are running with an episode of anime - it dies ... slowly ...

You do realize that 37% of memory is very low?... Memory should be around 60% on idle when you have a normal amount of applications running in the background. Windows manages the memory propperly so your computer runs fast. If you try keep your memory usage as low as possible your computer will become slower. Memory is used to make things faster.

Oh well that’s interesting ... I meant like, there’s no point in my computer launching skype every time I log it on, I rarely use it other than for screen share (awesomeness!), just waste of computers "ability to do other shiz" - like game!

Yuno is … awesome. There’s nothing more that needs be said. Plus it kind of reflects how dismal I feel when the maths lecturer loses me on the first blackboard of 10 blackboard maths lecture, then gives me a "quick worksheet" to do "of an evening" ... I'm sure that feeling is well known all round though XD

I'm guilty of throwing a lot of icons or extra folders onto my desktop as well. Any pointers on keeping it clean...other than just not showing them?
Although, when I do not show them, I can always go to the start button, plus my wall paper looks better that way as well.
