[Ortix]

Plot Summary: Tsubomi is a savvy and horny school girl who works at a lingerie club, a gentlemen's bar where scantily clad young women serve drinks to the patrons. She is useless at her job but is blackmailing her boss so she won't get fired. One day she runs into a gorgeous young man who she takes to bed. She meets into a perverted talking cat with a butterfly on its forehead, who recruits her to be a magical soldier. She has to fight off a dominatrix elf woman called Beene, a minion of Regina Apis, a matriarch bent on chaos and forming her new Dynasty. Tsubomi is learning of her powers when she is rescued by an oddly familiar masked man, known only as Dandelion. The plot of this anime is completely farcical and parodies the magical girl genre and Sailor Moon in particular. -ANN

Heard about it but never saw anyone sub that. Wonder how it completely slipped by?

EDIT: Nothing on Animesuki, nothing on Tokyotosho.... but there's a torrent on ISOhunt that's only 3 weeks old. Will grab it and try my hand at muxing the subtitle files if they've already been time-coded

Already have the ISOhunt torrent finished, but the English translations (labeled as Beta) don't have timecode on them. The actual ASS files have another language on them, and I don't know how easy it will be to simply transpose them. Never done subtitling before.

explain to me exactly what you are trying to do. I've have some experience with subbing and timing.

What I would like to do is replace the Asian-language subs in the ASS file with the English-language script that came with the torrent. The former has time code, the latter does not- but it's the one we'd understand. It would involve more than simple cut-and-paste though

If the attachment came through all right, you can open the files and see what I mean.

oh damn. well the only way to do it is just strip the vid from it's current sub and just manually add in the subs. I use aegi sub to do retiming and what not. It's "industry" standard for fansubbers. I don't have the willpower to sub the show, but it should be fairly easy to do. If you want you can give it a try and i'll guide you through with some tips and tricks.

Huh. I just found out from a little link-surfing that Section23 will be distributing the TV series for another company. It'll be interesting to see how it does, since the ONA itself was pretty low-profile, and the series even more so- approx 800 and 300 respective "watched" listings on MAL. I bet more people learned of its existence if they read the news blurb on ANN the day it showed up than word-of-mouth for the past 4/7 years.
